Opportunities for Giving
The success of many of North High School's academic, athletic, activity, and service programs has been possible only with strong, continuing support from parents, alumni, area businesses and community organizations for 100 years!
North students and staff frequently are encouraged to make school needs known and to tell community members how they can help. This page intends to do that.
GOLDEN PROM
The Golden Prom is an annual event for senior citizens, sponsored by economics students from North and Tartan high schools. The cost of the event is covered through grants, donations and generous support from the community. Senior citizens pay nothing.
Approximately 600 senior citizens attend the event which includes a buffet dinner, prom pictures, a live band, casino and bingo entertainment and door prizes.
What is needed : Donations of cash or door prizes for the Annual Senior Citizens Prom.

STUDENT RECOGNITION PROGRAMS
The NorthStar program at North sponsors the following student recognition programs, funded entirely by donations from parents, area businesses and community organizations:
Student of the Month breakfasts & business/community-sponsored display plaques honor one student from each academic department each month for outstanding classrom effort, achievement or leadership.
Unsung Student and Staff Hero recognizes one student and staff member each month for 'above and beyond' service to school or community.
Quarterly Ice cream Parties recognize about 500 honor roll students who have also participated in school or community activities or service projects during the quarter.
Breakfast of Champions is NorthStar's single biggest event, honoring some 350 students who achieved perfect attendance, or honor roll grades while participating in school or community for the full school year.
NorthStar scholarships are awarded at the year-end Breakfast to two college-bound graduating seniors with documented need for financial aid.
What is needed: Donations of door prizes for the ice cream parties and Breakfast of Champions, or sponsorship of one of 12 academic department's students of the month during 2005-06. Contact: Lalinda Egerstrom at legerstrom@isd622.org, or, 651-748-6045.
Notice about fundraising
Residents of the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District should be aware that school organizations, such as athletic teams, do conduct fundraisers throughout the year.
Organizations that conduct a fundraiser will be selling a product, such as coupon card or book, magazines, calendars or other products. Organizations do not just solicit cash. If you get a request for money, and there is no product for sale, please contact the District at 651-748-7620, as this is not a legitimate request.
Some residents have recently reported that a student came to their door asking for money to purchase football practice equipment. Please note that this is not a legitimate fundraiser.
